Barbara Hataway Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Crawford Family Funeral & Cremation Service - Edmond on Jul. 26, 2024.
Barbara Ann Hataway, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024, in her hometown of Oklahoma City, OK, after a life rich in family, service, and song. Born on October 28, 1946, to the late Owen and Ruth Stubblefield, Barbie's journey was one marked by devotion to her loved ones.
A proud graduate of Capitol Hill High School, class of 1964, Barbie went on to earn an Associate of Computer Science from Oklahoma City Community College. Her professional life was distinguished by her role as a computer consultant in the oil and gas industry, where she was known for her sharp mind and generous mentorship.
Barbie's passion for service shone brightly during her tenure as the Oklahoma State President of the Girl Scouts of America in 1963 and as the Vice President of the PTA at Coolidge Elementary. These roles underscored her commitment to nurturing the potential in every child and her belief in the power of community.
Her love for singing and active participation in church activities were a testament to her faith-filled life. Barbie's selfless nature was most evident in her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her family, including her big brother Owen Stubblefield; daughters Madison Currier and Meridith Ogle; and her cherished grandchildren, Amelia, Ruby, and Brock.
Barbie was preceded in death by her parents Owen and Ruth Stubblefield, her sister Gaylene Snow, her loving husband Tim Hataway, and her daughter Shawna Hataway. Described by those who knew her as loving and selfless, Barbie's memory will be held in the hearts of all who were touched by her kindness and unwavering spirit. Her life was a testament to the beauty of giving, and her memory will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
A service celebrating her life will be at 2:00pm on Monday, July 29th at Crawford Family Funeral Service, Edmond.
