Barbara Blanton Hendrick passed away after a long battle with cancer at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby.
She was the daughter of the late James Everette Blanton, Sr. and the late Margretta Hicks Blanton.
Barbara was born on August 11, 1946. She was formerly employed by Cleveland County and Gaston County Department of Social Services. After graduating from Crest High School, she attended Gardner Webb University, Cleveland County College, and Central Piedmont Community College. Barbara was a loving, dedicated, and devoted Christian.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Sarah Blanton Lemons (Billy) and a brother, James Blanton Jr. (Vicki) and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Monday, November 25, 2024, at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Stan Webb. The family will receive friends prior to and following the service at the funeral home. A private burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 or to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby NC 28150.
