Barbara Johnson Obituary
Barbara is survived by her children, Craig Johnson (Kimberly), Kelley Williams (Aaron), Paul Johnson (Hilda), and Nathan Johnson (Alexandra); eight grandchildren, Evangeline, Caleb, Emmanuelle, Felix, Milo, Jack, Elijah, Ezekiel; six greatgrandchildren; siblings, Arthur Davis and Norman Davis; and her cousin Richard Shannon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fenton Johnson, and her parents, Grant and Ruth Davis.
Barbara was born on December 4, 1946 in Dover, New Hampshire. She graduated from Dover High School in 1964 and went on to attend the University of New Hampshire where she graduated in 1968 with her degree in Social Work.
Barbara and Fenton met in high school but reconnected after he had returned from the Vietnam War. They married in 1971 and lived in Nashua, New Hampshire until 1980 when they moved to Milford, Massachusetts to pastor True Light Christian Church. They shepherded the church together until Fenton's passing in 2002. She lived in their dream home in Uxbridge until 2018 when she moved to Webster to be closer family.
Barbara especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her love of children even extended beyond her family. She started a school, taught, ran a church children's program and nannied. She loved gardening, painting, going to church, reading her well-worn bible, and praying with her dear friends.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday June 12, 2022 from 2 – 4 PM in the Buma – Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress St., Milford, Massachusetts.
A memorial service for Barbara will be Monday June 13, 2022 at 1 PM in the Buma – Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress St., Milford, Massachusetts. It will be immediately followed by a graveside burial ceremony in Pine Grove Cemetery, Rte. 85, Milford.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Boston's Children's Hospital, 401 Park Drive, Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215.
