On June 10, 2025, our hearts were saddened by the passing of our dearly beloved, Barbara Ann King James. Barbara was born March 19th, 1950, to the late Benjamin King and Ethel Mae Williams in Virginia.
Barbara was formerly employed with Petersburg Home for Ladies. She had great joy for caring for elderly people.
Barbara was preceded in death by: her husband, George Junious Ragsdale; brothers, James King and Rudolph King, twin brother, Bobby King and sister, Elsie Mae Whittaker.
Left to cherish her precious memories are: daughters, Cynthia D. King, Claudia D. Campbell; son, Derek C. Brown; two step-daughters, Andrea Ragsdale and Crystal Ragsdale; brother, Saul King and sister Lillian Thomas; grandchildren, Tewana King, Derek King, Ashley Deshields, Marquia Campbell, Myia Campbell, Jaydenn Campbell and Jamella Campbell; great-grandchildren, Amaya King, Teaun Smith, Dominique Orr, Jefferey Cook and Daibrien King; one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends, among them devoted friend, Thelma Thompson.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2pm, Sunday, June 29th, 2025 at the Petersburg Chapel of Bland Funeral Home, 137 Harrison Street, Petersburg. The family is receiving friends at the residence, 2460 Boydton Plank Road, Petersburg, VA, 23805.
