In Loving Memory of Debra (Debbie) Taylor Hise
Debbie was born on April 19, 1962, to Philip W. and the late Cleta J. (Tusing) Taylor in St. Albans, WV. She grew up in Chesterfield, VA and attended Manchester High School. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving children.
Debbie was proceeded in death by her husband, Thomas (Tommy) McCray Hise. She was a devoted mother to her four children: Alicia Hise (Chris) of Williamsburg, VA, Jason Hise, Joshua Hise (Brittany) of Chester, VA and Rebecca Hise (Nathan) of Williamsburg, VA. She deeply loved her eight grandchildren who were the light of her life. She enjoyed hosting holidays and cookouts and spending time with her family and her rescue dog Bully.
Debbie worked for 22 years at Canaan Printing until its closure. She also worked many years with her husband until his untimely death at age 37. She was happiest spending time with her family and her pets. She enjoyed reading a good book, tending to her tomato plants, spending time at the beach or the tranquility of a mountain lake. She also had a lifelong love of music and was her sister Karen's biggest fan.
Debbie will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. We will remember her strength, resilience, and sarcastic humor. Her family expresses heartfelt thanks to her devoted hospice team at Gentiva for their care and compassion during her illness.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, September 27th, 2025 at the Petersburg Chapel of Bland Funeral Home, 137 Harrison Street, Petersburg.
