Barbara Jean "Cindy" Knapp, 86 of Middletown, Delaware passed away February 4, 2025.
A native of Brunswick, Glynn County, Georgia and a resident for most of her life, she was born February 17, 1938 to the late Jess Willard Jacobs and the late Barbara Virginia Brock. Mrs. Knapp was a graduate of Glynn Academy. In her early business career, she enjoyed her job as a legal secretary to Mr Ringel, Esq.
Cindy devoted all of her time to raising and spending time with her children, family and their activities. She enjoyed her many hobbies, painting, sewing and ceramics. She was a member of Lakeside Methodist Church in Brunswick, GA and a member of Bethesda Methodist Church in Middletown, DE.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Knapp was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Rena S. Blackstone Brock Skipper Reddick, Paternal grandmother, Gussie Ammons Jacobs Brooker. Her older brother, Jess Willard Jacobs, Jr and his wife, Janice Cason Jacobs and younger brother, James Douglas "Doug" Jacobs and his wife Diane Strickland Jacobs; and two Brother-in-Laws; Dave Knapp (Christine Evans Knapp) and Greg Knapp (Kay).
She is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Kenneth Dean Knapp, Sr., their children Mindy Knapp Martin (Kevin) of Morris Plains, NJ and a son, Kenneth Dean Knapp, Jr. (Corinna Vilone Knapp) of Middletown, DE. Four grandchildren, one Great-granddaughter, beloved relatives and numerous friends.
Our World is a little dimmer without her bright spirit and beautiful soul. We will draw comfort from and cherish the many fond memories she leaves behind. We rejoice in the knowledge that she is watching over us with love from heaven.
A viewing will be held from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm on Thursday, February 13th at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE. The service will be private at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
