Barbara (Barb) Ann Cox Levine, 78 of Davenport, Iowa and formerly of Benton Arkansas, passed away at home on Friday, September 6th, 2024.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 11th at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral home, Bettendorf, Iowa.

Barb was born to Wayne and Gertrude (Bunge) Thiering on July 25, 1946, in Davenport IA. After graduating from Muscatine, IA. High School, she attended Hurley Schools of Beauty, earning her cosmetology license.

After graduation, Barb was hired by Leonard (Larry) Cox to work at his wig shop in Davenport. She ended up marrying her boss on September 25th, 1976. Together they built their retirement home on Beaver Lake, Rogers, AR.

On July 28th, 2020, Barbara married Paul Levine in Benton, AR. Barbara and Paul enjoyed their many travels together.

Barb was proud of her long time and active membership in the Benton VFW Post 2256 Auxiliary - MOCA (Cooties) where she held several positions, including president. She enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, boating, snowmobiling, parties at the club, NASCAR, driving her Corvette and weekly gatherings with the Cootie girls. She also enjoyed annual pajama parties with girlfriends, Shady Lady lunches, and decorating. She passionately collected Santa figures, Cardinals and Antiques.

Her spoiled dogs were her treasured companions. Barb was courageous in her battles to beat cancer. She never met a stranger. Her contagious laughter often left everyone around her in tears.

Barb is lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Mary Cox of Davenport, IA, special nephew and niece, Kerry and Kathy Cox of LeClaire, IA, nieces and nephews, stepchildren, step grandchildren and countless loving friends.

Special thanks to her dear friends Cheryl Huddleston, Wanda Howell, Jeannie Huckleby of AR, and Susan Meenan of Davenport, IA who are sisters in her heart.

Barb was preceded in death by parents, grandparents, husbands Larry and Paul, and her precious fur babies.
