Barbara Harper Lowe

Barbara Harper Lowe, 72, of Richland, Mississippi, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday morning, December 9th, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Flint, Michigan, Barbara dedicated 31 years of loyal service to the United States Postal Service, where she was known for her strong work ethic, her quick wit, and the friendships she formed along the way.
Barbara cherished the simple joys of life-reading, cooking, playing cards, and spending time with her family. She loved history, a good book, and never shied away from a lively conversation, especially when it came to politics. She had a warm presence and a quick wit that made others feel welcome in any room she entered. To her family, she was the queen of the family, the one who kept everyone in line with her famous, "Because I said so." She was a steady rock, a safe place to land, and the heart of her home.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Barbara's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Jimmy Lowe; her daughters Nikki Reid (Danny) and Katie Canterbury (Jason); and her favorite grandson, Andrew Reid, and her favorite granddaughter, Harper Kate Canterbury, who were the light of her life.
She is also survived by her sister Jackie Cooper (Butch); her niece Emily Holiday (Hunter); her brother-in-law Joe Klaas and Billy Klaas and her sister-in-laws Betty Klaas and Maggie Klaas; and her beloved great-niece and great-nephews: Ava James Holiday, Hayes Holiday, Micah Harper, and Lily Harper.
Barbara is preceded in death by her grandfather, Thurman Breazeale; her grandmother, Annie Breazeale; her mother, Betty Landrum; her brother, Mike Harper; and her nephew, Matthew (Matty) Harper.
Barbara will be remembered for her love, her strength, her humor, her quick wit, and her unwavering devotion to her family. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 13th, at Pinelake Church in Brandon. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., with the memorial service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
