Barbara Martisch,85, of Union Beach, passed away on Saturday, August 14th, at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel. She was born in Newark, lived in Irvington until moving to Union Beach 57 years ago. Barbara was first and foremost a homemaker and also worked as a lunch aide for Memorial School, Union Beach. In her younger years she was involved in Roller Derby and dancing. She had the greatest love for Frank Sinatra. Barb enjoyed gambling, going to Atlantic City, playing Bingo, going on roller coasters, watching scary movies and enjoyed musicals. She loved music and travel along with following Rutgers football. She loved spending time with her family, but most of all going to the grandchildren's Pop Warner games. Barbara will always be remembered as loving life and living it to the fullest. She is predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Katherine Schautz; her brother, Kenneth Schautz; two brothers in-law, William Sheridan and John Martisch; two sisters in-law, Dolores Bauernhuber and Marie Martisch; and her two nephews, Brian and Billy Sheridan. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, William "Willy" Martisch of Union Beach; two sons and daughter in-law, William and Kathleen Martisch of Union Beach and Nicholas Martisch of Union Beach; three daughters and son in-law, Barbara and Kenneth Prezpadlo of Middletown, Kim Martisch of Union Beach and Jaime Martisch of Union Beach; three brothers and sister in-laws, Frederik Schautz of Fl, Robert and Cindy Schautz of Keyport and Lawrence and Donna Schautz of Windfield Park; a sister in=law, Helen Sheridan six grandchildren, Michael Martisch, Greg Lambrecht, Kelli Martisch, Stephen Lambrecht, Holly Lambrecht, Joseph Martisch; 10 great grandchildren, Isabella, Nicholas, Ella, Jaxson, Olyvia, Jameson, Savannah, Ameliana, Harper and Jett; many nieces, nephews cousins and extended family. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Barbara's life on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M. A religious service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:15am at the Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals 233 Carr Avenue, Keansburg and the internment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's at https://act.alz.org
