Barbara Ann Meadows

Barbara Ann Rife Meadows, 65 years of age of Pilgrims Knob, VA passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022 at her home. Born October 27, 1957 she was the daughter of the late Elmer Rife and Virginia Evelyn Stacy Rife.
Barbara was of the Old Regular Baptist faith and a member of the Hale Creek Old Regular Baptist Church. She was a former employee of the Buchanan County Sheriff's office as dispatcher, former employee of Marvin D. Horton Company, and a former volunteer of the Dismal River Rescue Squad. She enjoyed playing phase ten, playing on the computer, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, William and Maggie Keen Stacy, paternal grandparents, Frank and Polly Vandyke Rife; infant sister, Maggie Ann Rife; daughter, Patricia Ann Street; and nephew, Joseph Ray Oquinn.
Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Jessica (Wayne) DeSilva of Whitewood, VA; son, Alex Meadows of Lebanon, VA; former husband, Junior Roy Meadows of Pilgrims Knob, VA; three sisters, Carol Yates (Andy Floyd) of Vansant, VA and Tina Deel of Pounding Mill, VA and Priscilla (Danny) Oquinn of Coeburn, VA; and three brothers, Bruce (Clarice) Rife of Smith Mt Lake, VA, Chester (Christine) Rife of Poor Valley, VA, and Richard (Diane) Rife of Pilgrims Knob, VA.
She is also survived by four grandchildren, Blake (Sylvia) Street, Robert DeSilva, Jason DeSilva, and E.J. DeSilva; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Barbara Ann Rife Meadows will be conducted Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 12:00 noon at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA with Pastor Clyde Wimmer and Pastor Shawn Rife officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Rife, Roy Keen, James Rife, Phillip Yates, Andrew Yates, Gabriel Yates, Andy Floyd Yates, and Chetric Rife. Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Street, Alex Meadows, Robert DeSilva, Jason DeSilva, E.J. DeSilva, Zachary Rife, and Chase Rife.
The family will receive friends at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home Wednesday, December 14th with evening services to begin at 7:00 with Elders Philip Hagerman and Mark Justice officiating.
The funeral service on Thursday at 12:00 noon and evening service on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. will be streamed live on the funeral homes Facebook page.
