Barbara J. Meyer
Barbara Jean Able Meyer, 78, beloved wife of David J. Meyer, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at her home.
Born in El Paso, TX, she was a daughter of the late Milton David Able and Annie Lou Pepper Able.
Barbara had retired from The Hagood Insurance Agency in Easley as an insurance agent. She was an active member of Easley First United Methodist Church and the Pathfinders Sunday School Class. She enjoyed crafts and volunteering at the church’s bazaar every year. She was a humble lady who never met a stranger.
In addition to her husband of 59 years, David, she is survived by her children, Laurie Meyer Benjamin of Charleston and Russell D. Meyer of Greenville; and her sister, Shirley Reese of Greer.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Barbara’s private care staff, Dale Garrett, Joanne Anders, and Lee Morgano, and to Bon Secours Compassus Hospice for the wonderful care given to Barbara.
A memorial service to honor Barbara’s life will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of Easley First United Methodist Church, 115 W. 1st Avenue, Easley, SC 29640. A private burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 123 W. Antrim Drive, Greenville, SC 29607, or The Meyer Center, 1132 Rutherford Road, Greenville, SC 29609, or Easley First United Methodist Church, 115 W. 1st Avenue, Easley, SC 29640.
