Barbara Lou (Gatchel) Micker, 79 years of age, from Dillonvale, OH, passed away December 25, 2024 unexpectedly. She was born in Dillonvale Ohio on May 29, 1945. She is the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Mary (Yanulis) Gatchel. She was preceded in death by brother, Jackie Gatchel. Her Half-sisters Cecilia Sierwaski and Louise Ippolitti, Half-brothers Nick and Rudy Sipcich, Joseph Gatchel Jr., Russell Gatchel, and Francis Gatchel. Surviving is her loving husband of 56 years, which they both reminisced about meeting at the stone house dance hall and dancing to their favorite song, kind of a drag. Also surviving, is a Son, Shawn (April) Micker of Bellaire, Ohio and Sonya (Geoff) Micker- Allain of Dillonvale, Ohio. Two Grandchildren, Cole and Jared. 21 Grand fur babies. Step-sister Irene Bloom (late William Bloom) of Yorkville, Ohio. Brother-in-law Roger (Debbie) Micker of Wheeling WV. She has a large family of nieces and nephews. Barb loved her family very much. You would always see her in the summer enjoying her beautiful landscaping. She could take something ordinary and make extraordinary. She always loved watching her son play baseball through the years and her daughter playing softball. She loved attending craft shows and festivals. She especially loved cooking and everyone who tried her pierogies and macaroni salad was in for a treat. She enjoyed spending time with her son in law Geoff, who introduced her to different food cultures along with other experiences and Daughter in law, April who she enjoyed spending time with her and her family especially at all the dinners. She was always proud of Jared and Cole's accomplishments and her dream has always been for them to both achieve happiness and always following their hearts. We have many fond memories but she will always be remembered, never forgotten. We love you. Memorial Services will be on Sunday February 2, 2024 at Schuetz Funeral Home 235 Clifton Ave Mingo Jct., OH at 2 pm with the Pastor Jim Monogioudis officiating.
