Barbara J. (Watson) Morgan, 75, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hermitage, Sunday, July 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Barbara was born February 12, 1950, in Zanesville, OH, the daughter of Clayton and Virginia (Watson) Dovenbarger. After the sudden death of her mother Virginia in 1951, she was adopted by Clarence and Ruth (Wagner) Watson and eventually moved to the Shenango Valley. She was a 1969 graduate of Hickory High School in Hermitage.
She had worked at Nugent's Nursing Home and UPMC Horizon – Shenango Valley as a Nurse's Aide, prior to retiring.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel Morgan of Reno, Nevada, and Jason (Jennifer) Morgan of Hermitage; a brother, William (Carol) Watson of Hermitage, a sister, Beverly (John) Dillon of Hermitage; and four grandchildren, Taylor (Korey) Smith of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Allyndrea Morgan of Birch Run, Michigan, Daniel Morgan of Savannah, Georgia, and Alexis Connors of Hermitage.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, James Dovenbarger, Richard Dovenbarger, Ronald Dovenbarger, and Walter Watson.; a daughter-in-law, Kelli Cox Morgan.; and a nephew, Brian Krauss.
Mom always spoke highly of the staff & residents at Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and we are so thankful for their patience, kindness, and genuine care for her. They became like family to her.
In keeping with Barbara's wishes, there will be no services.
