Pratt - Barbara Elaine Nichols, 78, passed away October 11, 2025 at Pratt Regional Medical Center. She was born October 26, 1946 in Colby, Kansas to Robert and Pansy (Brooks) Barton.
Barb graduated from Colby High School in 1964. Throughout her life, Barb worked for Sacred Heart School, Citizens Medical Center and Cummins Mid America. She attended the Berean Bible Fellowship of Colby. Barb volunteered as a kids group leader for the Awana program and held a small group Bible Study in her apartment. She enjoyed spending time with family and having morning coffee and prayer time with her friends, putting puzzles together, sewing, cooking, crafting, playing computer games, and looking at pictures of family.
She is survived by her children, David (Shelly) Berens of Stafford, Kansas, Kevin (Angie) Berens of Colby, Kansas, Stephanie Berens of Indianapolis, Indiana, Christopher (Shannen) Berens of Pratt, Kansas, and Sarah (Zane Mahanna) Berens of Shawnee, Kansas; 12 siblings, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Barb is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Pansy Barton; infant sons, Gerald and Michael Berens; and grandson, Josh Berens.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Colby.
Memorials may be made to Joshua Berens Memorial Scholarship and mailed to Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt, KS. 67124. Online condolences may be made at www.larrisonmortuary.com.
