Barbara Pinyan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sosebee Funeral Home on Feb. 5, 2026.
Barbara Louise Hester Hall Pinyan, born April 6, 1943, in Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, in Savannah, Georgia. She was the daughter of Roy E. and Louise Hester.

Barbara is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart, Daniel "Danny" Pinyan of Garden City, Georgia; her children, Greg and Jenny Hall of Rome, Georgia, and Gretchen and Trey Abney of Elliston, Virginia; her grandchildren, Andrew (Zijun) Hall, Lauren Hall, Ashlyn (Ryne Sutton) Hall, Christian Abney, Colin Abney, and Caroline Abney; and her great- grandchildren, Dylan and Carol Ann Hall, Edith Hall, and Finn Sutton.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than fifty years, Jimmie Hall, and by her eldest sister, Geri Ellington.

Barbara was one of nine siblings and is survived by her brother and sisters: Karen Colston, Gayle Walker, Roy Lee Hester, Kathy Jones, Marcia Jaillet, Myra LeFevre, and Marla Bishop.

Barbara lived a life marked by a deep and steady faith. Jeremiah 29:11 and Ecclesiastes 3:1 served as guiding Scriptures throughout her life, shaping her trust in God's purpose and timing. Her legacy is one of faithfulness, service, and grace.

She was known for her strong administrative skills and her exceptional hospitality. These strengths were evident throughout her career, which included co-owning and operating Jim Hall's BP Station, as well as professional roles with the Atlanta Braves, Avon, Mead Packaging, and NASA. In every setting, Barbara brought order, care, and a spirit of welcome. Barbara also had a deep love for flowers and for making spaces beautiful - a reflection of her heart for nurturing others and creating environments of warmth and peace.

She will be deeply missed by her family and all who were blessed to know her. She will be remembered for her faith, kindness, and the love she brought to others' lives.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Sandy Plains Baptist Church, 2825 Sandy Plains Rd, Marietta, GA 30066.
