Barbara Plantholt

Barbara Ann (Bonnie) Plantholt, 79, of Parkville, Maryland passed away on July 26, 2023. She is preceded in death by her parents Edward C. and Vera M. Plantholt.
Bonnie is survived by her sister Margaret Marie (Maggie) Lee (née Plantholt) of Baltimore, Maryland, her nephew Paul Robert Lee, Jr., Paul's wife Deanna D. Lee, her great-nephews Edward D. Lee, Avery C. Lee, and her great-niece Maren E. Lee, as well as her many friends who are like family.
Bonnie graduated from Mount Saint Agnes College in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. After college, she worked as a Research Associate at Rosewood State Hospital where she was a part of team conducting research that contributed to the phenylketonuria screening test among other accomplishments. She later worked as a Research Associate at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, before embarking on a more than twenty-five-year career as a Manager and Senior Electron Microscopy Technician in the Department of Pathology Electron Microscopy Laboratory at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. She was a talented artist in several media including ceramics and amateur photography (both still photo and video). She especially enjoyed English and Western equestrian activities and carriage driving with her beloved horses.
A memorial mass which will be held at St Ursula's Church in Parkville at 10 AM on Saturday, August 19, 2023, with internment to follow at Parkwood Cemetery.
