Lee Gang Yee

Lee Gang Hong Yee, 74, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on December 8th 2025 in Centreville, VA. Born in Washington D.C. on October 9th 1951, he was the son of Roger Doo and Lew Tai Yan Yee, and brother to May Tan, Betty Chin, and Don. He is survived by his children: Michael, Steven, and Mary.

Lee graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in finance and worked as a financial analyst for EDS and later on HP until he retired in 2016. He was a man with multiple skills; he was a handyman of all trades and always had the tools for any and all home improvements. He renovated whole basements, built entire decks, and various home projects such as: bathrooms, lofts, walkways, and kitchens. Even in the scorching summer heat, you would find Lee at the tennis court with his basket of balls and practicing his serves. He was a tennis teacher at his kids' elementary school until 2022. Near the end of his time, Lee was still mowing the lawn, blowing the leaves, going to Costco to find the best deals and to pick up snacks for his children. He spent his free time playing card games online, watching movies, tv shows, and his Chinese dramas--with a strong habit of switching channels or skipping ahead. You would always see him with a bottle of diet Pepsi close by and eating Popeyes on a monthly basis.

Lee was a man of few words but instead he was a man of action, always wanting the best for his children.

Daddy, we will miss you!

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation for Lee on Monday, December 15th, 2025 from 5 to 7 PM at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, Virginia 22032.

Interment will be held at Fairfax Memorial Park Cemetery.
