Barbara Ponzio Obituary

Visit the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home website to view the full obituary.
Barbara Ponzio, born December 17, 1939, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on February 26, 2026.

Barbara was born to Mildred Reeder and Hargus Reeder and was raised on a farm in Watertown, Tennessee, where the values of faith, family, and hard work were deeply rooted. She attended Watertown High School and proudly supported the Purple Tigers. These early years helped shape a life grounded in simple joys and unwavering faith. Her relationship with Jesus Christ was central to who she was, and she lived with a quiet trust in the Lord, sharing His love through kindness, generosity, prayer, and devotion to family and friends.

On December 7, 1957, she married the love of her life, Joseph Ponzio Jr., beginning a marriage grounded in faith, love, and devotion to family. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and care while raising five children.

Barbara found joy in life's adventures and in God's creation. She loved photography, capturing meaningful moments and memories of the people and places she cherished. She also enjoyed motorcycle rides and traveling, fulfilling a lifelong dream of visiting every state in the United States. Wherever she went, her greatest joy remained time spent with family and friends, who were always at the center of her life.

Her faith in God and her relationship with Jesus Christ were central to who she was. Barbara lived with a quiet but steady trust in the Lord, believing in His promises and sharing His love through kindness, generosity, and devotion to those around her. She found comfort in prayer and strength in her faith, leaving a lasting legacy of love and spiritual encouragement to all who knew her.

Barbara is survived by her brother, Charles Reeder; her sister, Pat Rhodes; her children, John Ponzio and his wife Deborah, Jerry Ponzio and his wife Melvina, Joni Derry, and Jason Ponzio and his wife Nancy; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were a continual blessing in her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Reeder and Hargus Reeder; her beloved husband, Joseph Ponzio Jr.; and her sons, Joseph Ponzio III and Robert Nathan Ponzio.

A service celebrating Barbara's life and her eternal home in heaven will be on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 am until the service hour.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and the assurance that she is now at peace in His presence.
