Barbara Pylant, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on March 17, 2025, at the age of 90. Barbara was born on September 23, 1934, and her memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Barbara retired after over 35 years of service at the ASCS office, where her professionalism and work ethic touched the lives of many. A member of First Baptist Church of Crowville, Barbara was an active participant in church activities and was especially passionate about her role in the church choir. Barbara's warm heart, gentle spirit, and infectious smile brightened the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Steve Pylant and his wife Rhonda of Crowville, LA; grandsons, Steven Pylant, Jr. of Crowville, LA, and Jason Pylant and his wife Nora of Crowville, LA and great-granddaughters, Julia Kate and Kelsey. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Cecil Pylant, son, Tim Pylant and great-granddaughter, Josie Pylant.
In honor of Barbara's life and legacy, a funeral service will be held 2 PM Thursday, March 20, 2025 at First Baptist Church Crowville on March 20, 2025, with Rev. Wade Coker and Rev. Terry Ganey officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until service time at the church, and interment will follow at Crowville Masonic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Lee Busby, Jimmy Cloessner, Kevin Cobb, Josh Donnell, Hilton Griffin, Nick Poulos, Chris Ward and Andy Windham.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of First Baptist Church, Crowville, LA.
