Barbara Ann Ragels of Oracle, Arizona, passed away on August 15, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on September 9, 1941, in Savanna, Illinois, she was the cherished daughter of Merle and Evelyn Bonjour.
Barbara shared 67 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Delbert Ragels. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and tradition. She is survived by her children - Rebecca Ann McMillion (David), Douglas Michael Ragels (Barbara), Jacqueline Marie Reeve (Mario), and Timothy Scott Ragels (Erin); grandchildren Adrienne (David), Christopher (Leanne), Kathryn (Christian), Kenan, Candace (Marvin), Noelle (Gage), Tristan (Amanda), Brianna, Jorden (Jeffrey), Cole, Eden, and Alec; and great-grandchildren Ryland, Peyton, Evelyn, Eric, Koa, Leo, and Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Evelyn Bonjour.
Barbara's life was a rich tapestry woven with family, tradition, and joy. She loved gathering around the dining room table for spirited card games, where her competitive streak and stubborn determination were matched only by her warm laughter - a laughter that was truly contagious and could light up any room.
She also found happiness in riding and caring for horses, and she was especially proud to ride in parades, where her strength and spirit shone brightly. Animals always held a special place in her heart, from her horses to her beloved pup, Brandy, who was rarely far from her side and who could always count on Barbara to share the last bite of her meal.
Music and history were dear to her as well. She adored the music of Elvis Presley, and she deeply admired President John F. Kennedy, who remained her favorite throughout her life.
Barbara delighted in bold flavors - especially garlic - and her meals became a hallmark of family gatherings. Just as she seasoned her dishes, she seasoned her family's lives with stories, traditions, and the assurance that everyone had a place at her table.
Though sometimes lovingly called stubborn, Barbara's steadfast nature was the very strength that made her a constant, unwavering presence for those she loved. She leaves behind not only her family but also a legacy of warmth, resilience, laughter, and devotion.
Barbara Ann Ragels will be deeply missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends - and remembered always for her laughter, her love of animals, her devotion to tradition, and the way she gave so fully of herself, right down to her very last bite.
