I loved Barbara Jean's company. My lasting memory of her is when we were on a cruise. We chatted often and she asked challenging questions. I noticed someone mentioned "direct." She WAS direct. LOL. Not the normal conversations one might imagine having with someone. I'll miss her. Rest in Peace, Barbara Jean.

I met Barbara Jean in 1997. She was my accountant and friend all these years. My condolences to Joan and all Barbara Jean's other friends. She was a joy to know and I am devastated that she is not here on earth with us now. Her memory is a glorious blessing.

Barbara was my accountant for nearly 34 years. I was an employee at a small grooming shop which owner was always suffering with her taxes. So I suggested that she hired Barbara. She was a regular client and Dotty , the owner of the Coconut Grove Canine Grooming (following my advice) went to see and hire Barbara for her services. When she came back she told that Barbara had urged her to fire me because I was too expensive.
Three years latter I opened my own business and needless to say I hired Barbara for her directness in her advice. Troughout my relationship with Barbara I had often to remind her that I hired her for her advice but it did not mean that I always followed it. We remained friends even after she retired and moved to Gainesville. She will be missed by many in Miami. Last week at her preferred Jewish restaurant in South Miami (The Bagel Emporium) the owners were remembering how she always send delicious platters to my business employees every end of year. They miss it so much that now I buy the platters of mixed sandwiches for them. Barbara will be always in my heart.

In a word Barbara Jean was uncompromising. However, she had a wicked sense of humor yet wouldn't suffer fools. I still look out my window down the block expecting to she her out and about with her dog chatting with a neighbors or the postman.
She is missed and hopefully she will get to see her beloved Nancy in the after life.
