Barbara Ann Reitz, known to her loved ones as Babs, passed away on March 3, 2024, in Aurora, Ohio, at 95. She was born on June 25, 1928, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Barbara was a devoted wife to Leonard Reitz, who predeceased her in 2003, after 52 years of marriage. She was a cherished mother to her sons, Thomas (Joan) of Aurora, Ohio, and Jonathan (Joyce) of Medina, Ohio. Barbara was also a loving grandmother to Austin, Car, and Julia.

After graduating from Valparaiso University in 1950 with a Bachelor of Arts in English, Barbara embarked on a career in the employment/placement industry in Milwaukee and Cleveland. She later served as the State Funds Administrator at Lutheran High School East in Cleveland Heights, until her retirement in 1988.

Barbara was dedicated to volunteer work, serving on various boards and committees for causes she cared deeply about, including Lutheran Chaplaincy Service, Building Hope in the City, and the League of Women Voters Greater Cleveland.

A lifelong Lutheran, Barbara worshipped at Royal Redeemer and St. John Lutheran Church for many years. She enjoyed supporting the arts, notably the Playhouse Series in downtown Cleveland and the Cleveland Play House. Barbara was an active member of the Seniors Group at Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Barbara will be buried at St. John Lutheran Cemetary in South Euclid, Ohio, during a private family service on Friday, March 8, 2024. Bollinger Funeral Goods and Services in Brunswick, Ohio, are handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barbara's memory can be made to Chaplain Partnership, Lutheran High School East, Building Hope in the City, League of Women Voters Greater Cleveland, and Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Barbara Reitz will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, dedication, and service will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
