Barbara J. Rupard, age 81, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away peacefully in her home November 11, 2024. She was born on May 14, 1943, in Lebanon, Missouri, daughter to Kirby and Margaret Gunter.
Barbara grew up in Lebanon, MO, and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1961. She married Roger Rupard on May 9, 1964. Together they had two children, Brian and Rebecca (Beckie) and they resided in Pleasant Hill, Missouri for nearly 50 years. After many years as a homemaker, she went to work at Metro Auto Auction in Lee's Summit, MO, from which she retired after 25 years. Barbara enjoyed camping, traveling, spending time with her family, golfing in 'Tuesday night league' for many years, and always shared the great stories and memories she made with Roger, her kids, and grandkids. She also spoke with her sisters on the phone daily, catching up on the weather, health issues, and family updates. In most recent years, her family gave her the title of "Granny Mahomes" as she was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. She will be missed by all, she was loved by many, and the world was a better place with her in it.
Barbara is survived by her children, Brian and Beckie; grandchildren Lindsie Kee (Aaron), Stephen Rupard, Karlie Rupard (Bodie King), and Brady Rupard; great grandchildren, Ashton Kee, Brooke Kee, Blaklie King, and Willa King; sisters Carol Fulford and Kay Morton; nephews and nieces Gene Morton (Melissa), Toni Morton, Jess Fulford, Jennifer Fulford, and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Rupard; parents, Kirby and Margaret Gunter, and infant grandchild, Brooke Elizabeth Rupard.
A Celebration of Life is planned for her on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Big Iron Town, 29608 E. 179th Street, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. We will honor Barbara with a few words around 2:00 p.m. A dessert bar will be provided, Barbara would love this as she always wanted to be sure no one around her was hungry.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges-Scott-Millard Funeral Homes, 514 Highway 42, Osage Beach, MO 65065 (573) 348-3232. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.hedgesscottmillard.com.
