Barbara Ann Dolares Salvino, 83, passed away peacefully on July 31 at Glendale Home. Born and educated in Schenectady, Barbara was the daughter of the late Raphael Ernest and Bernice (Tootsie) Salvino.
Barbara, or Bobbi Ann to family and close friends, graduated from Linton High School and loyally worked in the New York State Department of Transportation for 38 years until her retirement in 2001. Barbara enjoyed traveling with friends; she was a member of the Red Hat Society, participated in fun fitness activities with friends, and volunteered at St.Clare's Hospital. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, ceramics, crocheting, sewing, and gardening. Throughout the years, Barbara enjoyed the love and companionship of her furry canines.
Along with her parents, Barbara is predeceased by her sister, Madeline Bradley, her brother Frank Salvino, niece Sheryl Galiano and nephew Thomas Bradley. She is survived by her brother Robert (Liming) Salvino, nieces Alicia (Jenna) Salvino, Donna (Gregg) Thomas, Sharon (Scott) Banta, nephew John Bradley and sister-in-law Patty Salvino. The family would like to thank the staff of the Dutch Hollow community at Glendale Home for their compassion and care shown to Barbara during her time there.
In accordance with Barbara's wishes, services will be private. Those wishing to remember Barbara in a special way may make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in her memory.
