Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established in Barbara’s memory.

Barbara Jean Wright was born July 12, 1942, in Rockwood, Tennessee, the daughter of Thomas and Lillie Grace (Anders) Wright.

Barbara was a hard worker and provider for her family. She worked in nearly every department at Oscar Mayer over the course of 36 years, retiring as sanitation crew leader. After retirement, Barb found great joy in caring for her “babies”.

Barbara’s essence was a rare blend of kindness, generosity, and a comforting spirit. “Aunt Jeanie” lived her life prioritizing others, a selfless quality that endeared her to everyone. The wellspring of Barb’s pride was her family.

Barbara’s roots run deep from Germany to Texas to Illinois. She is survived by three children, Tommy “Mark” (Susi) McQueen of Augsburg, Germany, Rochelle (Rodney) Johnson of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Tammy Morris of Rock Island; her seven grandchildren, Tony, Lisa, Jeanea, Brittany, Rodney Jr., Jaylan, and Roshaad; eight great-grandchildren, Joshlynn, Lion, Clara, Jaiden, Journee, Ellias, Sage, and Zoe; sisters, Wilma Howard and Cecelia Wright, both of Rock Island; her brother, Johnny (Marilyn) Wright of Aurora, Colorado; a special sister-in-law, Willie Kate Wright; and a host of cousins, extended family and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lillie Wright; and siblings, Lysola, Henry “Bud”, Harry “Mr. Uncle Tim”, Charles “Pee Wee”, Lee, and Joann.

We would like to give a special thanks to Aunt Nita, Dad & Alma and our sisters Monique and Shaune.
