Barbara J Schmidt

Barbara J Schmidt, 69, of Brick NJ passed away peacefully on Friday July 4 surrounded by family at home after a long battle with cancer. "Bobbie" was born in Linden NJ and was a resident of Brick for 30 years. She was an Adjunct Professor of Environmental Sciences where she taught Chemistry and Lab at Brookdale Community College attending multiple seminars and certificate programs in her field of study until her retirement in 2022. Barbara received her Masters Degree in teaching, and a Bachelors degree Magna um laude from Kean College in 1977, an AA degree from Union Community College in 1975 and was a graduate of Linden High School 1973. She was pre-deceased by her parents William and Marion Schmidt from Linden NJ, and leaves a brother and sister William Schmidt from Boston and MaryLou Figurelli from Holmdel, NJ along with many nieces and nephews.
Bobbie was a life-long dog owner and lover including her two surviving friends Boone and Oliver. She was a consummate gardener, an avid boater and friend to many in the Midstreams area. She loved her nephews and nieces and adored her grandnephew and grandnieces.
She was an member of MPOA and a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary with many award certificates to her name. She was a straightforward, kind and thoughtful person and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
