Barbara L. (Wagaman) Seidel, 80, of Maxatawny, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 in Cornerstone Living, New Tripoli. She was the beloved wife of Mark W. Seidel, whom she married on February 24, 1962.
Born in Reading, Barbara was a daughter of the late Lee S. and Anna E. (Christman) Wagaman and was a 1963 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. Barbara was a dedicated farmer for many years, working alongside her husband Mark, raising corn, soybeans and wheat. She could operate all kinds of farming equipment, even the largest of their tractors. Barbara was proud of her garden and loved to care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a former Longaberger Consultant and was a member of The Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.
Throughout her life, Barbara embodied the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. She took pride in her role as a farmer, nurturing both the soil and the people around her. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched with her warmth and kindness.
Along with her husband of 63 years, Mark, Barbara is survived by her children, Jane R. (Seidel), wife of Paul Rohrbach, and Julie R. (Seidel) George, companion of Robert Rohrbach, both of Maxatawny, Jeannine R. Seidel, companion of Carl Kressley, of New Tripoli, and Jerilyn R. (Seidel), wife of Steve Wehr, of Kutztown; son-in-law, Ricky Butz, Mertztown; sister, Charlotte J. (Wagaman), wife of Geral F. Diehl, Kutztown; brother, David D., husband of Cynthia Wagaman, Schneckville; 10 grandchildren, Austin P. Rohrbach (Kayla), Ashley R. Hassler (Thomas), Garth R. George (Jenna), Gavin M. George (Kaylee), Kenneth M. Knerr (Jessica), Daniel R. Butz (Courtney), Jordann N. Kressley, Carissa L. Wehr, Kyle S. Wehr (Trista), and Katelyn M. Wehr (Legend); and 12 great-grandchildren, Addy, Ryleigh, Emmy, Andy, Avery, Benny, Bryce, Walker, Sterling, River, and twin-boys, Parker and Carter, due in September. Along with her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her daughter, Jennifer Robin (Seidel) Butz, on April 17, 2010 and grandson, Jared Parker George on February 24, 2022.
Funeral services for Barbara will be held privately by her family with burial concluding in Ziegel's Church Union Cemetery, Breinigsville.
