Barbara Roper Spencer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, at the age of 82.

Barbara was preceded in death by her firstborn, Dwight Bosarge; her parents, Mike and Margie Roper; her sister, Margaret Dixon; her brothers, Phillip and Junior Roper; and her great-grandson, Theodore Wright.

She is survived by her husband, David Spencer; her children, David (Lori) Bosarge, Darren Bosarge, Joy (Price) Reynolds, and Dayl Bosarge; her grandchildren, Whitney (Tommy) Peters, Hillary (Michael) Wright, Cody Bosarge, Kalynn Bosarge, and Taylor (Kamp) Kirsch; and her great-grandchildren, Vanelle, Thomas, Miller, Jude and Ava

She was born on October 23, 1942, in Wilmot, Arkansas, but spent most of her life in Mobile, Alabama, where she raised her children and married the love of her life David Aug 7th 1999.

Barbara was a devoted wife to her beloved husband whom she cherished with all her heart. As a mother, she poured her love, energy, and time into raising her four children, treasuring every moment spent with them. Her life was a beautiful reflection of unwavering love, selflessness, and the deep bonds of family.

Barbara found immense joy in spending time with her grandchildren, whether they were cooking together, sharing stories while shopping, or simply enjoying long, heartfelt conversations. With her great-grandchildren, she embraced the quiet, tender moments, rocking them gently as she sang sweet lullabies, reading them books, or napping with them in her chair. These simple joys brought her the greatest happiness and created memories her family will cherish forever.

She loved traveling, sewing, gardening, fishing and going to car shows with her husband, talking with friends and family, and cooking for anyone who would eat. Her hobby was baking brownies for all her neighbors.

Barbara was a proud member of the CVMA Auxiliary and enjoyed socializing and fundraising with her chapter.

She will be missed dearly but forever remembered for her love, kindness, and the legacy of strength she leaves
