Jennings: The family and friends of Barbara Ethel Suffrin are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on December 11, 2023, at the age of 84. Barbara was born in Basile, LA. to Clifford Gotte and Virgie S. Gotte on September 3, 1939. She worked for Louisiana State School until her retirement. Barbara loved the time she spent with her children and all of the rest of her family. She was a kind and loving soul who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Barbara is survived by three children, Charlotte Chapman of Iota, LA, Hollie Wales of Iota, LA, David Ewing (Annette) of Jennings, LA; three stepchildren, Terri Suffrin Comeaux, Michael Suffrin, John Suffrin (Stacey) all of Plaquemine, LA; three brothers, Jimmy Gotte (Marie) of Crowley, LA, Edward Gotte (Bonnie) of Iota, LA, Wallace Gotte (Bonnie) of Evangeline, LA; three sisters, Peggy LeBlanc (Aulden) of Hathaway, LA, Maila Deese (Chuck) of Jennings, LA, Norma Watkins of Pineville, LA
Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband, Sherman Ewing; her daughter, Sheila Ewing; her second husband, Gil Suffrin; her parents, Clifford & Virgie Gotte; her brothers, Jerry, Curby, Clifford, Jr., & Lubert Cotte; her sister, Thelma Smith
Funeral services will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings, LA on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 1:00 PM with Reverend Eric Crochet officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Community Cemetery.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA on Wednesday, December 13th from 9:00 AM until the time of her funeral service.
