Barbara Thomas Obituary
WARSAW- Barbara Adelva (Slaughter) Thomas, 75, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.
She was born Oct. 30, 1948 in Coshocton to the late Richard H. and Hazel Marie (Walters) Slaughter. She worked at Echoing Hills for seven years before beginning her career working for River View Local Schools. She started at Union before moving to the high school and eventually transferring to the newly completed junior high facility, where she remained until her retirement. Altogether, she served the River View District for 42 years.
Barb made many great friendships with teachers and staff members over the years. Many of them continued to reach out to her after she retired, and she always enjoyed catching up with them. She enjoyed flowers, going to the beach, and being around her grandkids.
She is survived by her children, Dee (Joe) Landaker, and Randy Thomas, both of Warsaw; three grandchildren, Heather (Ryan) Michael, and Abby & Ashton Thomas; three great-grandchildren, Tate & Bodey Michael, and Zariyah Reese; a half-sister, Ruth Flowers; two brothers, James (Sheryl) Slaughter, and David Slaughter; several nieces and nephews; and her companion of many years, Roger Giblin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Rick Slaughter.
There are no services scheduled. Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is assisting the Thomas family. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
Memorial donations are suggested to the River View Legacy Fund, c/o The Coshocton Foundation, P.O. Box 55 Coshocton, OH 43812.
