Barbara Jean VanBuskirk

Barbara Jean VanBuskirk, 87, of Brodheadsville, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 1, 2025.
She was the loving wife of the late Carl VanBuskirk. They celebrated 49 years of marriage together before his passing in 2006.
Born on March 4, 1938, in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Paul and the late Marion (Roberts) Paul.
Barbara was an active member of the Gideons Bible Ministry and the Calvary Bible Church in East Stroudsburg, PA, serving on several church committees. Her favorite Bible verse that she held close to her heart was John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Most of all, she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Barbara will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.
She is survived by a son, Matthew VanBuskirk (Marcelyn); a daughter, Judy VanBuskirk (Karpowich) (Barry); seven grandchildren, Timothy VanBuskirk (Janelle), Stephen Van Buskirk (Adam), Candice Kelley (Tony), Matthew C. VanBuskirk (Amanda), Joshua David Karpowich, Evan VanBuskirk, Isabella VanBuskirk; thirteen great grandchildren, Emma, Ava, Antony, Everett, Adeline, Kellen, Cole, Annabella, Ellie, Elliott, Hudson, Noah, Levi and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Mark Anthony VanBuskirk (Sandra), a daughter, Susan Kay VanBuskirk Apgar, and three brothers, Gerald Paul, Roy Paul, and Emerson Paul.
Viewings will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Kresge Funeral Home, 1763 Route 209, Brodheadsville. Homecoming services will follow on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Michael Stettler officiating. Burial will follow the service in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.
