Barbara Haley Vaughn

Barbara Haley Vaughn, 92, of Canton, GA, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, in Cartersville, GA. Born on November 15, 1932, in Canton, to the late Alfred and Addy Clarke Haley.

Barbara's life was marked by her unwavering devotion as a preacher's wife-supporting her spouse in his spiritual duties, enriching the lives of parishioners, and setting an example of faith and kindness in the community. Barbara took pride in maintaining a tidy home and a hobby for picking up sticks. She was known for her ability to turn any frown upside down. Her infectious laughter and sharp wit were a source of joy and comfort to her family and friends.

She was a talented cook, especially known for her famous pound cake, which was a much-anticipated treat. The aroma of her baking was a hallmark of her home.

Barbara's life was an inspiring tapestry of love, hard work, and humor. She approached each day with a zest for life that was contagious, championing the values of hard work and dedication in everything she did. Her legacy is marked by her love of life, her unwavering faith, and the countless lives she touched.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Samuel Clyde Vaughn; sisters, Lilian Roper, May Rampley and Marie Vaughn; brothers, Oscar Haley, A.T. Haley and Walt Haley.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Lee Vaughn Stringer (Tommy); son, Robert Stanley Vaughn (Penny); grandchildren, Mark Stringer, Jeff Stringer (Cathie), Joy Parker (Danny) and Jacob Vaughn (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Bailey Huebner (Trent), Hannah Stringer, Dalton Stringer, Blake Stringer, Lane Parker, Brett Parker and Addison Parker; great-great-grandchildren, Wade Huebner and Preslee Gobie; as well as other beloved family members and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Billy Edmondson officiating. Interment will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, August 14th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday, August 15th from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
