John Sanders Vaughn, age 83, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025 in Dahlonega, Georgia. He was born January 1, 1942 to Clyde Sanders Vaughn and Agnes Bell Vaughn in Gainesville, Georgia.
John is survived by his wife, JoAnn Roper Vaughn of Dahlonega; daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie Vaughn and Jimmy Adams of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Melinda Ann Free and Alex Clark of Dahlonega, Megan Ashley and Anthony Eagan of Dahlonega; Robert Jesse Link of Gainesville, Kaitlyn Shaye Link and Jose Aparicio of Oakwood, Bradley Chance Adams of Chestnut Mountain, Cayla Renee Adams of Baldwin; great-grandchildren, Madison Lilly Scroggs, Alexis Johanna Aparicio, Alessandra Cait Eagan, Atom Alexander Clark, Remington Sanders Eagan and coming soon, Julian Isiah "Jello" Aparicio. Several nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive.
He was preceded in death by parents, Clyde Sanders and Agnes Bell Vaughn; brother, Gary Loudon Vaughn; parents-in-law, Roy James Roper and Gladys Thelma Roper; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bobby Gene and Pat Roper; and brother-in-law, William Wilkie.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 29, 2025 at Yellow Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home, Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and Friday, August 29, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
The family will accept flowers.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
