Barbara Watson

Barbara J. Watson, age 90, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 25, 2025.

Barbara was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and had lived most of her life in Fort Oglethorpe. She was a woman of deep faith, and her love for the Lord guided every aspect of her life. Her faith was very important to her, and she was a longtime, devoted member of Parkway Baptist Church.

Barbara loved to travel and cherished the time spent making memories with her family. Above all, she loved her family and her Lord, living her life as a reflection of that love.

Barbara will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and the love she shared so freely with those around her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Robert C. Watson; her parents, Paul Joseph and Clara Lucille Wilson; and her brother, Paul Edward Wilson.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Hansen and husband Michael Hansen; her son, Robert J. Watson; and her grandson, Alex Watson, along with other loving family members and friends.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated staff at Parkside Nursing Home for their exceptional kindness, compassion, and loving care, shown to our mother, during her time there.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at 1:30p.m. at Lakewood South Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00a.m. until 1:00p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville, GA.
