Barbara A. Wheat, age 81, died peacefully in her home August 6, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born May 15, 1943 in Webster Springs, WV to Cecil and Geraldine (Viller) Knight and had lived in this area most of her life.

Barbara was a long-time member of the Lockport Alliance Church and had a great love for her God. She was an avid reader, and sewer, enjoyed camping , cooking and was very family oriented. Barbara was also a very independent and determined woman but had a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great great grandson. Mrs. Wheat was predeceased by her husband Percy, her brother: Denver Knight, sisters: Jean, Dee and Dude, as well as two great grandchildren: Nevaeh and Jamison.

She is survived by her son: Kevin (Debbie) Wheat of Barker, her sisters: Judy Lach of FL, Gloria (Danny) Hagan of WV, Dora (Roland) Blessing of OH, 2 grandchildren: Melanie (Richard) Tomaino, Christine Wheat, her great grandchildren: Kira (Mike), Aaliyah, Tristen, Kasey, Caden, Brayden, Jaxson, Karsyn, her great-great grandson: Kole as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main St.-Gasport, MONDAY August 12. 2024 from 11am-1pm where her Funeral Service will be held immediately following visitation at 1pm. Interment will follow in Hartland Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY, 14094.
