Barbara Whittaker, age 72, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday morning, January 21, 2026. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 21, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Enid Elks Lodge, 520 W. Oxford. This will be a come-and-go gathering.
Barbara was born and raised in Enid, Oklahoma, and graduated from Enid High School in 1971. She began working at Oakwood Country Club in 1972 and retired in January 2019 after many years of dedicated service, finishing her career as office manager.
Barbara met the love of her life, Richard Whittaker, and they were married on April 6, 1974. She loved spending time with family and friends, bowling, karaoke, visiting the casino, and watching game shows. Barbara never met a stranger and was known for running into someone she knew wherever she went. Her laugh-loud, joyful, and unforgettable-could be heard for miles.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Whittaker; her sister, Cindy Oneth; her children, Stephanie Jacobi and husband Steve, and Kyle Whittaker and wife Shayla, and her five grandchildren, Brielle and Madilyn Whittaker, and Jewel, Allison, and Tucker Jacobi. She was preceded in death by her parents, O.B. Williams and Roy Williams.
