Barbara Ann Wilkey, 86, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. She was born on January 10, 1939, in Battle Creek, Michigan, the daughter of Woodrow C. Cantrell and Dorothy M. (Dodson) Cantrell.

Barb was born and raised in Battle Creek where she graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. She worked for Battle Creek Sanitarium for many years and then Amado's Upholstering which she loved until her retirement. She was a current member of the American Legion Post #298 and previous member of the Goldwing Touring Association.

Barb is survived by her children, Connie Wilkey, Bryan Wilkey, Teresa (Hugh) Wood, Scott (Sherry) Wilkey, Colette (Darrick) Wilkey-DeRidder; sister, Mary Robbins; brother, William (Virginia) Cantrell; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 64 years, William Wilkey; and brother, Robert Cantrell.

Barb enjoyed sports, especially softball, archery and bowling. She was an avid artist and Bingo player, as well as loved motorcycle riding. Above everything else though her family was the light of her life. She was a hands-on grandma that enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Barb will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those that knew and loved her.

At this time, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Centrica Care Navigators, 7100 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.

I'm sending love, peace and comfort to you during this difficult time. It has been quite a while since I had seen Aunt Barb. But the memory is very clear and the thing I most remember was her smiling that day. That is the image that will remain in my heart and mind. Her smile.
