Gloria Jean Meyer (Adams) passed away peacefully with family at her side at Bickford Care Facility in Battle Creek on August 30, 2025.

Gloria was born on September 18, 1950 to Leonard and Barbara Adams (Scott) in Coldwater, Michigan. She attended Union City Schools and later began working for State Farm Insurance Company where she remained until her retirement in 2005. She married Phil Meyer on May 26, 1973.

Upon her retirement, she bravely hiked a portion of the Appalachian Trail alone, spent countless hours volunteering at Wattles Park Elementary, perfected her role as a grandma "GG", and maintained a healthy lifestyle by working out at the gym and walking frequently. She was a good golfer and enjoyed participating in several leagues.

Gloria loved to travel… Southeast Asia, Europe, Central America, the Caribbean Islands, and skiing trips were among her favorite vacation destinations. After her retirement, she and Phil would spend two months each winter exploring new places together. Gloria was a generous, modest, and industrious woman who was deeply loved by her husband, daughters, family and friends.

Gloria's proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, and she took great joy in their successes in academics, sports, and careers. She cherished family gatherings, babysitting her grandchildren, going on family trips, visiting with friends, hosting guests, and playing softball in her younger years. Gloria was an avid reader, and generously shared her talent for knitting, gifting handmade items such as baby blankets, socks, mittens and, sweaters.

Gloria is survived by her loving husband, Phil; daughters, Tobi (Andy) Kociemba, Tracy (Donnie) Monroe; 4 grandchildren; Payton, Emma, Cooper, Brody; siblings, Mike (Barbara) Adams, Steven (Connie) Adams, Mary (Denny) Pepper; and numerous aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Per her wishes, she has been cremated. A Celebration of life will be held at Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service in Battle Creek on Monday, September 8, 2025, visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, with a service to follow beginning at 1:00 pm. We welcome all to join us for a light lunch afterward.

In lieu of flowers, we encourage donations to Marian E. Burch Adult Day Care Center or Bickford of Battle Creek in honor of Gloria.
