Barbara Joan Wilkinson (Muzzey) 74 years old, passed away on February 3rd, 2025.
Barbara was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in nearby Park Ridge, IL, by her late parents, Lloyd and Marie Muzzey (Koenitz). She graduated from Maine South High School before continuing her studies at the University of Iowa, where she majored in Education. In her early twenties, Barbara followed her heart, marrying Allen and settling in Marshfield. She was a devoted wife and mother, dedicating herself to raising her two children. She supported Allen in managing his business and later found fulfillment as "the rose specialist" at Tomasi Nursery in nearby Pembroke, MA.
Barbara was an ever-caring mother and a passionate pet lover. She delighted in many hobbies, including reading, gardening, travel, cooking, and music. Her happiest moments were spent in the company of her family and friends, walking her dogs, and immersing herself in the beauty of her flower and vegetable gardens. In the past decade, Barbara's greatest joy came from spending quality time with her three beloved grandchildren, cherishing each moment and offering support for their various activities. Now at peace, Barbara has surely returned to her historic ways of health and happiness, engaging in wittiness and playful banter with her loved ones. Her spirit, kindness, and love will be forever remembered by all who knew her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Wilkinson, and is survived by her children, Jeff Wilkinson and Christine Donovan, Christine's spouse Adam Donovan, and her grandchildren Garrett, Maddie and Paul, as well as her sister Carol Salem (Muzzey) husband Jerry and their loving family. In addition, Barbara is survived by many supportive and caring friends.
Services will be held at North Community Church at 72 Old Main Street in Marshfield Hills, MA on February 14th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friends of Marshfield Dog Park, by mail to P.O. Box 1279, Marshfield MA 02050 or to the National Kidney Foundation, online at https://www.kidney.org/
