Barbara Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Colonial Funeral Home & Crematory - Phenix City on Mar. 4, 2026.
Barbara Jane Shavers Williams, a cherished matriarch and beacon of joy, passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 80, in Columbus, Georgia. Her departure has left an indelible mark on the hearts of her loved ones, yet her vibrant spirit will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
Born on June 28, 1945, to James William Shavers Sr. and Edna Lurline Shavers, Barbara's life was one of dedication to her family, her faith, and the simple pleasures that brought laughter and happiness to those around her. She was the loving wife of H.C. Williams Jr., known affectionately as "Bud," who preceded her in death, their union having been a testament to enduring love and partnership.
Barbara's legacy is lovingly carried forward by her devoted children, Stephen Williams (Kem), and Lorinda Selby (Randy). She was the proud grandmother to Cody Dubose (Teddy), and Kendra Hawkins (Andrew). Each of her grandchildren was a source of immense pride, and she reveled in their accomplishments, never missing a chance to cheer them on at rodeos and other activities they enjoyed. Her great-grandchildren, Edwin Dubose, Henry Hawkins, Fallyn Hinkamper, and Louise Dubose, brought her immeasurable joy and will grow up hearing tales of their great-grandmother's warmth and exuberance.
Barbara also leaves behind her loving siblings, Carolyn Massey and Ralph Lewis Shavers, with his wife Linda. She was a cherished aunt to numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in passing by her parents and her brother William "Bill" Shavers (surviving-Joanne).
Barbara was a member of Ladonia Baptist Church. Her connection to her community was further strengthened by her close-knit family ties and the friendships she nurtured over the years.
Barbara's zest for life was displayed by her infectious laughter and penchant for practical jokes as well as her creative spirit. She loved laughing with her family as well as making ceramics.
Before settling in Seale, Alabama, Barbara and Bud resided in Hurtsboro, where they built a life filled with love and laughter. Barbara's unwavering support for her husband was evident in all she did, including her role as his steadfast chauffeur, driving him on their many journeys.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, March 6 at Ladonia Baptist Church Cemetery at 1PM EST. It will be a time for family and friends to celebrate Barbara's life.
Barbara Jane Williams will be remembered not just for the life she led but for the love she gave and the happiness she spread. Her laughter, her spirit, and her devotion to her family will be forever etched in the memories of those who loved her. As her family and friends bid farewell to this remarkable woman, they take solace in knowing that her legacy will continue to inspire and bring joy to all who knew her.
