Barbara L. Wynkoop, age 77, of Ellenville, NY, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, at Garnett Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill, NY. Born on May 31, 1948, in Oceanside, NY, Barbara was a beloved member of her community and a cherished member of her family.
Barbara was a devoted wife to her husband, James Wynkoop, with whom she shared 52 joyous years of marriage. She was also a loving sister to Linda and Steven Winters of Mass, and a proud aunt to her niece, Ashley (Brent) Warren. Her role as a great aunt brought her immense joy, as she delighted in the lives of her great niece, Brooke, and great nephew, Jack. Throughout her life, Barbara embraced her family with warmth and kindness, and she remained close to several other nieces and nephews who cherished her presence.
A dedicated member of St. Mark's Methodist Church, Barbara was actively involved in her community. She served with distinction in the Napanoch Ladies Auxiliary as well as the Ulster County Ladies Auxiliary, where she held the roles of past president and chaplain. Her contributions and commitment to service left an indelible mark on those around her.
Barbara's legacy will be honored through a series of services held at Loucks Funeral Home, located at 79 N Main St, Ellenville, NY. Visitation will take place on Monday, November 24, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Fire Matic services will be held at 7:30PM. A funeral home service will be conducted the following day, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 10:30 AM, followed by interment at Fantinekill Cemetery at 11:00 AM. .
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Veronica Albertson, whose love and guidance shaped the person she became. Barbara L. Wynkoop will be remembered for her unwavering spirit, her zest for life, and her profound impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and compassion that will continue to inspire those who follow.
