Barry Boyd Evan Fitzgerald, 78, of St. George, Utah, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025. He was born on April 12, 1947, in Murray, Utah, to Boyd and Georgia Fitzgerald.
Barry lived a life grounded in love, integrity, and curiosity. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard, embodying a deep sense of duty and commitment that carried throughout his life.
He married the love of his life, Dana Fitzgerald, with whom he shared many wonderful years. Barry is survived by Dana; his sons, Evan (Jenni) and Nathan (Danielle); his step-children, Ben, Jon, Sam, and Amanda; and his 14 cherished grandchildren, who brought him endless pride. He is also survived by his brother, Alan, and his sister, Suzanne. Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Georgia Fitzgerald, and his sister, Jeri.
Barry was a man of many passions. He loved scuba diving and exploring the depths of the ocean, working with computers and technology, and spending quiet evenings outdoors with night vision equipment, watching the skies for mysteries above. He also enjoyed shooting and the simple peace of being in nature. These pursuits reflected his adventurous spirit and insatiable curiosity about the world.
Above all, Barry will be remembered for the love he gave his family, the laughter he shared with friends, and the example of strength and kindness he set for those around him.
In keeping with his wishes, the family will hold a small, private celebration of life to honor and remember Barry.
He will be deeply missed and forever treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
