Barry Newbold Frazelle

Barry N. Frazelle, 84, died on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
Born in Raleigh, North Carolina to Rebecca and Howard Frazelle, Barry went on to study engineering at North Carolina State University. He led a distinguished career as an engineer with the Forestry Service and the United States Army, where his service took him to Germany and throughout the U.S.
The hallmark of Barry's life was his quiet, steadfast service to others. His faith guided his life and directed him to care for those around him. He was constantly repairing, mending, or building for friends, family, or more often than not, complete strangers in the community. He sat with the sick, gave to those in need, and invited those without a place to go to live in his home-all without expectation of recognition or repayment. He was an active member of Trinity Hill United Methodist Church for over 40 years.
He will be remembered for his love for and skill at any card game or puzzle, his voracious reading, love of ice cream, and famous pound cake.
Barry was a devoted husband to his wife Carol, lovingly caring for his "doll" as her health declined. He is survived by his children, Allen (Kadi) Frazelle and Traci (Keith) Brewer, and Rick (Kelli) Morgan. Also surviving him are nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Forrest Frazelle, a brother Jack (Harriet) Frazelle, and his wife, Carol Frazelle.
