SCOTLAND NECK – Barry Lorayne Judge, age 72, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
Barry was born on August 27, 1952 to the late Ernest E. Judge and Bessie Stevenson. He graduated from Scotland Neck High School in 1970 and then attended NC State University, graduating in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Barry was an avid NC State supporter. "Go Pack!" He was employed by the NC Department of Labor, Apprenticeship Division. Over his thirty-year career, he started as a Field Rep and progressed to become the State Director.
Barry was a member of the Scotland Neck Methodist Church, a member of the Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of NC, and a member of the NASTAD (National Association of State and Territorial Apprenticeship Directors). He was an avid gardener and supplied his family and friends with fresh vegetables every summer. Barry loved his tractors and enjoyed farming. An animal lover, his dogs, Spike, Pedro, Pety, Booney, Zoe, Sparky, and Buster will always be missed and loved. Barry touched many lives with his abundant humor and kind heart. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by his brothers, Augustus Judge and John Judge.
He is survived by his niece, Belinda DeLuca and fiancé Rod Bresee of Middle Grove, NY.
A celebration of life graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Sunnyside Cemetery in Scotland Neck, with Pastor Tommy Taylor presiding.
