Barry Jay Maitland
December 10, 1956 – November 15, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barry Jay Maitland on November 15, 2024, at the age of 67. Barry was a devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend whose presence touched the lives of everyone around him.
Born on December 10, 1956, Barry’s early years were shaped by his love for sports and his fascination with vehicles, which carried through his life. He built a distinguished career in the Electrical Testing Industry, earning respect for his expertise, dedication, and ability to mentor others. Barry was known for his tireless work ethic and his generous spirit, both of which left a lasting impression on his colleagues and clients.
Barry was the proud father of Justin, Jeremy, Jayson, and Jeana, and he found immense joy in celebrating their achievements and guiding them toward their goals. Whether passionately cheering for the Virginia Cavaliers and the Washington Redskins or sharing his vast knowledge with those around him, Barry brought energy and enthusiasm to everything he did. His warmth and sense of community and “humor” created connections that will endure as part of his enduring legacy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joan L. Maitland and Macy L. Maitland. He is survived by his children, Justin F. Maitland, Jeremy L. Maitland, Jayson G. Maitland, and Jeana M. Bryant (Noah); his sisters, Tamara Wells and Kim Amabile (Andy); his niece, Lauren A. Lozano; and his nephew, Evan C. Amabile.
While we mourn the loss of Barry, we are comforted by the love, laughter, and memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed but will remain forever in our hearts.
