Barton Allan Micklus

It is with great sadness that we announce that Barton Allan Micklus, age 64, passed away in his Philadelphia home on November 30, 2024. Bart is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 12 years, Elizabeth Marchena Micklus, her children Pablo, Melissa, & Lasy, and grandsons Noah & Ayden (all of whom loved him as a father and grandfather), his daughter Samantha, his mother Carole, his sister Denise (Joseph) Pallante, nephews Augustus (Stephanie) and Gabriel (Jordan) and niece Maxine Pallante, his aunt Barbara (Bernhard) Kappler, his best friend, William Nicotra, as well as many close friends and cousins, and other relatives. He is predeceased by his father, C. Samuel Micklus. Bart fought a long battle against early-onset Alzheimers disease, which robbed him of his brilliant mind too early and too quickly. Bart was a life-long educator, teaching mathematics and computer science at the high school level (most recently at Mainland Regional High School in Linwood, NJ) and statistics, technology, and related subjects at the college level (including at Richard Stockton University in Galloway, NJ). Bart was a dedicated family man, always ready with a kind word and smile, who loved summertime fishing in the North Woods of Maine, golfing, watching the Eagles and Phillies play, and attending musical concerts. He will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 1:00pm, with a service immediately following at 2:30pm at Dinan Funeral Home, 1923 Spring Garden Street, Philadelphia, PA 19130.
