Battalion Chief James Isby “Bubba” Freeman, 63, of Greenville, South Carolina, transitioned on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital. Born in Greenville County, he was the son of the late James Isby Freeman, Sr., and Adline “Judy” Vernon Freeman
Surviving: two daughters, Celeste (Michael) Freeman Wallace, of Moore, SC; Chabraya Sullivan, of Greenville, SC; one son, Antoine Freeman, of Alpharetta, GA; of Greenville, SC; two sisters, Patricia (Amos) Herbert, and Linda F. (Michael) Downs, all of Piedmont, SC; fiancé Wanda Gary, of Greenville, SC; five bonus sisters, Elaine Vernon, Freda Guest, both of Greenville, SC; Ann McCrary, of Piedmont, SC; Eleanor Brownlee, of Summerville, SC; and Suzie Brownlee, of New Brunswick, NJ; six grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services: Saturday, May 17, 2025, 3:00pm, at Long Branch Baptist Church, with interment in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
