Bobby Freeman, Jr., age 90, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on August 28, 2025, at his home. Bob was born September 12, 1934, in Mitchell County, to the late Robert Adam and Artha Woody Freeman.
Bob was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean conflict. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Cherryville and was part of Dub Beam’s Sunday School Class. Bob was an active member and chaplain of the American Legion Post 100. He was also a talented woodworker, building an array of items, including furniture, benches, and cutting boards. He was actively involved and well known within the Cherryville community. Bob never met a stranger, and he was never afraid to tell people he loved Jesus and that Jesus loved them.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Doris Kester Freeman; and sisters, Betty Callaway, and Beulah Ward.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Mark Freeman (Mary Anne), and Jeff Freeman (Tonya); special caregiver, Wendy Allen; stepsons, Steve Garver, and Tim Garver (Phyllis); brother, Tommy Freeman (Wanda); 9 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
