Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation ServicesGloria Jean Corum, age 79, of Charlotte, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Testa Family Hospice House in Kings Mountain. She was born March 5, 1946, in Eden, North Carolina to the late Charles Wesley and Jean Elizabeth Taylor Corum. Gloria loved doodling, working crossword puzzles, and wordsearches. She enjoyed cooking, especially Thanksgiving Dinners for her family. Two of her specialties that will certainly be missed are her biscuits and gravy and her cherry yum-yum. Gloria also liked fishing and enjoyed eating what she caught. She loved the Lord, and she loved her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Terry Hacker and Marcus Hacker; and brothers, Pete Corum, Leon Corum, and Tommy Corum.
Survivors include her sons, John Hacker and wife, Pamela, and Raymond Hacker and wife, Melissa; brothers, Tim Corum and wife, Becky, and Wesley Corum and wife, Tammy; sister, Linda Turner; grandchildren, Joshua Lengyel, Alicia Daugherty, William Hacker, Jake Hacker, Tommy Brown, Michael Brown, Travis Brown, Daniel Hacker, Sarah Hacker, Josh Price, Matt Price, and Gina Hacker; 24 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home in Cherryville with Pastor Timmy Whitaker, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Cherryville City Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
