Obituary of Beatrice Greco
Beatrice "Bea" Greco, 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at her home surrounded by family.
Born on November 9, 1926 in Amsterdam, the last living child of the late Joseph and Laura Califano Greco, she was a 1943 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School and later the Amsterdam Business School.
Bea along with her sister, owned and operated Card-O-Rama in Amsterdam for a number of years. She was devoted to her family and her parish, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Bea loved to travel and cherished her trips to Italy, France and Disney. She believed in building memories with her loved ones, rarely ever saying no to family excursions. She enjoyed baby sitting her great nephews, as well as spending weekends and holidays with her many nieces and nephews. As a member of the Mt. Carmel Seniors, she enjoyed many of their trips and activities. Her smile, kindness and love will always be remembered.
Bea is survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and several cherished great grandnieces and great grandnephews; her sister-in-law, Sylvia Greco; and many cousins.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Marie, Joseph and Michael Greco.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 12:00p.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam, NY with The Very Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis E.V. as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in the family plot at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
